Connection, Compassion and Collaboration
These are the three components of working with me.
Connection- I believe in the power of connection. The biggest predictor of positive outcomes in therapy is the relationship. In my office, we will work to establish a connection that is empowering and rooted in mutual understanding. You will have a place where you can remove your armor and just be.
Compassion- I have spent most of my career working with children and families and understand that life can be difficult. I also understand that we have the innate ability to navigate life’s challenges when we have the proper support and understand our strengths. Using a compassionate lens to help you navigate your current challenge is at the core of our work.
Collaboration- I have no answers for you, you have all the answers you need to solve your issues. Sometimes shame, fear, and limiting beliefs get in the way. We will work as a team to conquer those. My job is not to lead you on the path you have chosen but to walk beside you pointing out opportunities in your blindside to help you explore all the possibilities.
So here’s the boring part...
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Registered Play Therapist trained in Adlerian Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and a Certified Daring Way Facilitator (Dr. Brene Brown’s research/work). I work with clients aged 6-24 and offer both telehealth and in-person appointments as well as skills-based groups. During your first appointment, we will discuss the options for treatment and frequency needed. I do not subscribe to the notion that people "graduate" from therapy, we will work to establish a relationship and the door is open at any time you need help navigating life’s challenges.
